We’ve been assessed. COST’s central office have published their 24-month assessment of the Action. And this is what they had to say:
The COST Action IS1405 “Building Intrapartum Research Through Health – an interdisciplinary whole system approach to understanding and contextualising physiological labour and birth (BIRTH)” has successfully embarked on bringing together numerous stakeholders – scholars in the field, practitioners, scientists, professionals, activists, political stakeholders and service users from across Europe and widely beyond. The work has been focused on five key areas, namely biomedicine, biomechanics, socio-cultural perspectives, organizational perspectives, and neuro-psycho-social perspectives. The Core Group is composed of highly competent people and the Action is very well co-ordinated. The six Working Groups are also progressing very well in their tasks and activities. The Action has also utilised training schools, and STSMs to enable the Action to reach desired goals. There are also substantial publication output of reports and peer-reviewed journal articles. Dissemination of information is also progressing very well as can be evidenced by a carefully monitored and updated website. The website is user-friendly and can reach out to members of the Action and beyond. The progress of IS1405 is highly satisfactory.
